In Vallecupa there is a castle inhabited by Richella, a witch who despises worldly life and, above all, cannot stand the annual lantern festival that King Teodoro holds for the people of his small kingdom. With the help of the improbable devil Malacoda, the powerful witch plots a kidnapping. She lures His Majesty to the castle and, through a trick, locks him in the Tower of Spite until the hated festival day has passed. Schiamazzo the dragon, the king’s helper, notices the kidnapping and, unseen by the witch, sets off to find help at the first house near the castle with a chimney puffing white smoke. That house belongs to Sandrone and Fagiolino. The two reluctantly become the heroes who must save the lantern festival – but first they must face several dangerous trials.

Walking Under the Wire. A comic-poetic-acrobatic marionette cabaret

In a miniature theatre, Nora – inventor of the world’s first sit-down comedy (as well as the short web spin-off series “NOTFLIX, the world’s first NOTWORK,” created during the pandemic) – guides us with wit and verve through the short vignettes that make up the show. The characters are impatient to perform and enter the stage unexpectedly; sometimes they are already right in front of the audience, almost invisible… Each has something to say and a wholly personal way of being on stage: the mischievous Miss Embrasse, the silent Janas, Oscar with his acrobatics, and the delicate Lilit, who moves through a suspended atmosphere. The soloist of a tenores quartet performs in an unprecedented way; mysterious legs practice jumping, and someone comes running, perhaps late, for the annual migration to warmer countries.
It is all held together by the witty and spirited Nora, who – aided by her book, from which the most original stories emerge – dialogues with the audience through gestures, songs, jokes, and interaction, making her a captivating and unpredictable character.

Everyone knows the tale of Little Red Riding Hood, but this time she won’t walk the feared forest path alone – Pulcinella will be with her, and mistaking her for his beloved Teresina, he’ll insist on escorting her all the way to grandmother’s house. Pulcinella doesn’t expect to run into the conceited Hunter, let alone the terrible Big Bad Wolf – but don’t worry, despite the mix-ups and misunderstandings, a happy ending is guaranteed! Even if it isn’t quite what you’d expect…

Two Puppets and a Baby

The married life of the level-headed Fagiolino and Sganapino, his easy-going and slightly scatterbrained sidekick, is turned upside down the day they find a cradle. The unexpected arrival of a baby throws the harmony of this comic duo and their “family” routine into chaos.
Coming and going from the house are the convent nun, Zigaretta the overbearing neighbour, the obligatory unpleasant character, Commedia dell’Arte masks such as Colombina, and a crowd of extras. Expect feedings, lullabies for the baby, chases, crying, naps, whacks with sticks, colicky fussing, and wild dancing.
The comedy draws inspiration from the film versions of “Three Men and a Cradle” and pays homage to that mechanical, movement-based comedy of nudges and slaps so dear to slapstick, the comedy of pratfalls, and the classic gags of Laurel and Hardy, Ben Turpin, Charlie Chaplin, and others.

Three folk tales about cooks, mothers, wives, and daring young women who defeat brutish men and marry absent-minded princes.
In the story of “Panciasfonda,” we meet a voracious ogre of good Romagna stock who prefers to devour fine home cooking rather than children. Along comes the housewife who, tired of the big lout’s abuses, decides to defeat his greed with an exquisite dish: “Sea Ricotta.”
In “Bluebeard,” the young heroine plays an active role: she defies her father’s objections, mocks the ruthless Bluebeard, and boldly frees her sisters.
In the tale “The Wooden Marietta,” a Romagna variation on Cinderella, the heroine plays a trick on a rather absent-minded Prince Charming, hiding her true identity before making him fall in love and marrying him.
The show gives voice to Romagna folk tales and legends where humour is at times intertwined with fear.
Ages 5 and up.
In case of rain, the show will not be held indoors.
